Staff Position (Author, Columnist, Proofreader, Editor, &c.): Submissions and Proofreading Editor (and also a columnist and very seldom an author) Column (if applicable): Dear Fairy Godmother How long have you been part of I&F, and how did you discover it? I'm friends with the founding editor, Elizabeth, and liked the idea...so I've been here since we began in October 2009. Three years! Why are you passionate about I&F? I love the variety we have, the people behind it, and our extremely supportive readers. Personal blog or website: www.rivershorebooks.comOne fun, random fact about you: I would rather receive a hug (a nice, warm, long one) than anything else in the world. Hobbies: Dancing (mostly ballet and Irish), reading and writing (naturally), experimenting in the kitchen, and attempting to make pretty crafts (jewelry, cross-stitch, crochet, and scrapbooks, depending on my mood). Favorite Book: Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. Describe your ideal day: I'd be surrounded by friends the whole time...plenty of hugs and cuddles all around. Add in some coffee, a little time for writing, and fun games...perfection.

Name (or Pen Name): Kevin Michael Derby
Staff Position (Author, Columnist, Proofreader, Editor, &c.): Columnist and soon-to-be Blog Editor
Column (if applicable): Following the King
How long have you been part of I&F, and how did you discover it? I came across I&F in January 2011 when I was reading an issue of "Gilbert" magazine that had a small feature of it. I’ve been blessed to be part of the team ever since.
Why are you passionate about I&F? Great fellowship, friends and fun while fighting for the faith. Yikes, that’s a lot of alliteration.
Personal blog or website: I actually don’t have any personal sites on the web.
One fun, random fact about you: I knew all my presidents--in order--when I was 5. Apparently, I needed to get out more as a child.
Hobbies: You mean besides reciting the presidents to myself? I’m addicted to reading. I read everything from the back of the A1 bottle to the tags of my sneakers. When I’m not reading, you’ll find me writing, watching the Jacksonville Jaguars find new ways to lose and eating obscene amounts of buffalo wings.
Favorite Book: "The Red Wheel" by Alexander Solzhenitsyn
Describe your ideal day: A comfortable chair, a cup of hot tea and hours of uninterrupted reading.

Name (or Pen Name): Rose Dominick Staff Position (Author, Columnist, Proofreader, Editor, &c.): Assistant Editor and Marketing Coordinator Column (if applicable): None at present! In past issues, Rambling Roses. How long have you been part of I&F, and how did you discover it? I have been a part of Ink and Fairydust ever since it was just a baby idea in... someones... mind... and I think I've always been assistant editor. It's been three years now, so the details are a little fuzzy in my memory! Why are you passionate about I&F? I've faded in and out a little with school and life... but I think the reason I've stuck with I&F and love it is because of how talented, how dedicated and how awesome everyone is who works to put this emagazine together. Personal blog or website: The business I run with my friend Elizabeth www.ylpcostumedesign.com and my personal blog Come Along Pond! One fun, random fact about you: When I was little the first thing I wanted to grow up to be was the first female president of the United States. Then I wanted to own race horses. Then I wanted to be a librarian. Hobbies: Reading, playing the piano, teaching myself guitar, photography, browsing Pinterest ;D , baking, cleaning the house (yes, seriously! It is a hobby!) Favorite Book: The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien, Persuasion by Jane Austen and the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling Describe your ideal day: Honestly... my ideal day is any day spent with my boyfriend. He lives 1,000 miles away from me (literally) and we only get to see each other every few months. It could be a day full of grand adventures, or a quiet day of cuddling - just as long as I could spend it with him.

Post by Marie Jeanette on Sept 29, 2012 21:27:31 GMT -6
Name (or Pen Name): Marie Jeanette Staff Position (Author, Columnist, Proofreader, Editor, &c.): Assistant Submissions Editor, Proofreader, Columnist, and occasional writer Column (if applicable): The (wonderfully new) Prayer Place How long have you been part of I&F, and how did you discover it? I discovered it through the Shadow of the Bear movie blog, through Elizabeth, and subsequently read all the issues up to that point, fell in love, and sent my thoughts to Ellianna. Then, she asked me to proofread...and the rest is history. Why are you passionate about I&F? I am passionate about I and F simply because it is an amazing community of people who share what they believe in a beautiful medium. The power of the press (even online presses) is remarkable, and I truly believe we are making a difference by sharing our art, conveying Truth in the way we know best. One fun, random fact about you: I can sing the alphabet backwards faster than I can sing it forwards... Hobbies: Making music in the most convenient way at the time (singing, playing piano, recorder, oboe, mandolin, percussion, whistling, etc.), consuming poetry, reading novels, writing in my notebook, calling friends, setting up meetings, dressing up like interesting characters, SHAKESPEARE, daydreaming, cooking, oh--I&F Favorite Book: Must I pick one? Tie between Return of the King and Waking Rose and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and Seaward and Ella Enchanted. At the moment. Describe your ideal day: My ideal day would be to sleep in till eight forty five, have a breakfast of sausage gravy and biscuits waiting for me, cousins arriving that day from out of state, hanging out with them whilst discussing Shakespeare and life's mysteries, then spending the latter half of the day with friends doing the same thing as with my cousins. And throughout the day, mixing in music. Lots of playing and jamming around. And I'd go to Mass in the evening with a group of people that I love. And then I'd have a sleepover with one of my best friends and we'd watch Shakespeare and Star Wars and Dr. Who all night, while sharing poetry and listening to music. And then I'd fall asleep and dream happy dreams. *Sigh* That does sound ideal now, but again, this could be subject to change. Because I'm me, and I'm ridiculous. Wonderfully so, if you asked. ;-)

Name (or Pen Name): Jacqueline Kim (real name, but you all can call me Jac I thought of using a pen name like M.T. Elliot, but I'll think on that some more ) Staff Position (Author, Columnist, Proofreader, Editor, &c.): Proofreader Column (if applicable): None so far, but maybe in the future! How long have you been part of I&F, and how did you discover it? About half an hour...but I'm already very excited to join you all! I was once sent a digital copy by a former writer from here, and then Ellianna told me more about it, so I decided to hop on the bandwagon and join you all. Why are you passionate about I&F? I love writing and editing, and I love any opportunity to get to do either or both! I&F is such a lovely production of literature and faith and the arts--it's right up my alley. (And you all seem like such a lovely, talented bunch that I feel very blessed to have been able to join. ) Personal blog or website: My tumblr (if you'd like a taste of my fangirliness and insanity), and my review blog currently on hiatus but looking for contributors to get it up and running again One fun, random fact about you: I'm a HUGE personality nerd--I love learning and theorising about the MBTI, the Enneagram, and so forth. (Also, I tend to use British spellings and pretend to be very British, even though I'm from California--you have been warned. Hobbies: reading, writing (books and plays, even though I get to do more of the former than the latter), blogging, music (including writing songs and playing the guitar, ukulele, and piano a wee bit), and watching period dramas (because they are my weakness ) Favorite Book: Only one?! Singular?! *sigh* I love pretty much anything written by Jane Austen--Pride and Prejudice is a given, so I'll say Persuasion. Describe your ideal day: staying home having lots of time to read and write, but maybe having a little outing on the train with my family to go around downtown a little; also, if a shipment of books or music albums suddenly comes in the mail on that day, then everything is just that much more wonderful.
